Free Sailing Programs Offered to Framingham Residents Who Qualify

Framingham residents, ages 10 to 21, who are on an Indvidual Education Plan (IEP) or have a documnted medical disability may participate in a free sailing program in Boston, beginning this Saturday and running for 5 weeks.

There is also an adult program, for thoe with a disability, that offers a sunset sail in September and October.

The younger program sail dates are Sept. 15, Sept. 22, Sept. 29, Oct. 13 and Oct. 20 ()ct. 27 is a rain make-up date) from 10 a.m. to noon.

Email sailing@F-SEPAC.org to express an interest in registering. Parents will need to fill out the Piers Park Sailing Forms (see link below)  and bring them to the first lesson (Parents can ignore the sailing dates on the form and the swim certification can be waived at the discretion of Piers Park Sailing)

ADULT PROGRAM:

There is a YES! You Can Sail! program for Framingham adult residents with a disability.
Enjoy a sunset sail with our qualified skippers and learn the basics of sailing aboard a stable, 23ft keel boats. All the adaptive equipment needed for any disability is provided. Program is a great introductory program to the sport of sailing.
Bring water, a warm jacket, close toed shoes, and sun screen. Up to 4 people (with or without disabilities) per sailboat.
AGES: 18+ years old with a documented disability (one PCA or caregiver, if needed, can join each sailor)
DATES: Fridays in September and October (see form for exact dates)
TIME: 4 to 6 p.m.
DURATION: One time sail per Framingham resident
COST: FREE
