High, Damaging Winds Expected Tuesday Afternoon in Framingham

A High Wind Warning is in effect with the strongest winds possible when showers and thunderstorms move through late Tuesday afternoon.

FRAMINGHAM, MA - Strong winds are expected Tuesday afternoon into Tuesday night across MetroWest, including Framingham.

The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory which is in effect from 1 p.m. this afternoon to 7 p.m. tonight.

Winds from the south are expected to be 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 50 mph with the strongest winds occurring late this afternoon into the evening hours when a band of showers and possible thunderstorms cross the region.

Officials say these winds may be strong enough to cause minor property damage and bring down small branches. Some areas could also briefly lose power.
