Framingham High boys hockey team lost to Marshfield in the MyHockey Live Cup opening round on Sunday.

The Framingham Flyers boys hockey team fell 6-5 in OT to Marshfield in the opening round of The MyHockey Live Cup in an exciting, up and down hockey game that saw the Flyers come back three separate times to tie the game.
The Flyers jumped out to a 1-0 first period lead on goal by Ben Stefanini. Stefanini carried the puck up the left wing, cut inside the Marshfield Rams defensemen and beat the Rams goalie. Marshfield tied the game minutes later on a power play goal. The first period ended tied 1-1.
Marshfield opened the scoring in the second period but the Flyers came roaring back to tie the game at 2-2 on a Tyler Anes power play goal. That tying goal seem to give the Flyers the momentum back but Marshfield scored with just under a minute left to take a 3-2 lead at the end of the second.
The third period proved to be one of the most exciting periods of high school hockey fans could see.

Marshfield opened the scoring just 2 minutes into the period to take a 2-goal 4-2 lead.
The Flyers kept storming back, cutting the lead to 4-3 on a Anes power play goal on a pretty feed from Stefanini.

As Flyers began to carry the play their hard work payed off with a game tying goal by Austan Bellefuille. Bellefuille’s goal came at the end of a strong hardworking forechecking shift by the Flyers in which Bellefuille picked up a loose puck in front of the Rams net.
With the momentum going the Flyers way Marshfield came back to take their third lead of the game with just about 4 minutes left to go. But the Flyers came back once again, with Colton Chassie walking of the right wing side boards and shooting top shelf to beat the Rams goalie to tie the game at 5-5.
The teams then moved to a 3 vs 3 overtime.
Each team went up and down the ice with several good scoring opportunities before Marshfield capitalized on a breakaway to take the game 6-5.
In the first game of the Cup, Catholic Memorial defeated St. John’s of Shrewsbury 7-3.
The Flyers play St.John’s Shrewsbury Monday night at 5 p.m. in the consolation game of the tournament while Marshfield will face Catholic Memorial.
