The Framingham High boys indoor track team battled Brookline on Thursday evening at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston, but the Warriors won 66-34.

Despite the loss, three Flyers qualified for the state meet.

Senior captain Mike McDonald won the 2-mile event in 10:02 seconds and qualified for the state meet.

Senior Marc Umumbu won the shot put event to qualify for the state meet with a throw of 46 feet and 4 inches.

Senior Ben Kirchman finished third in the hurdles, but his time of 8.35 seconds qualified him for the state meet, said head coach Chris Collins.

Junior Brendan Retalic won the 600-meter event in 1:29.41 seconds.

The Flyers finished second and third in the 55-meter race. Senior Kevin Scanton took second in 7.09 seconds and junior Matt Kimmelstiel finished third in 7.23 seconds.

Senior Nick Benoit finished second in the 300-meter race at 38.37 seconds.

Junior Alex Lowry finished third in the mile with a time of 4:48.43 seconds.

Senior captain Jake Ferraro had a personal best in the shot put with 40-feet and 6.25 inches, on just one good knee, said coach Collins.
