Helen O’Malley was shopping in Wal-Mart in Framingham over the holidays, when Framingham Police Officers Ken Blass and Dinis Avila helped her out.

The Framingham Police Officers were at Wal-Mart as part of the department’s holiday program to give out gift cards to those in need. They gave O’Malley one of the gift cards.

Yesterday, the Natick woman, 75, presented the two police officers with crocheted American flags to say thanks. It took her about 24 hours to complete them.
