A pedestrian was struck on Route 9 west, near California Avenue, in Framingham just before 6 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 4.

A medical helicopter was requested, but the man was transported to UMASS Medical in Worcester via ambulance.
The pedestrian struck was a man, 31, who is well known to police, said Framingham Police Lt. Stephen Cronin.

His injuries are not serious.
He was not in a crosswalk, when struck, said Lt. Cronin.
He did not yield to the vehicle, said Lt. Cronin.
The driver of the sedan, a male, stopped after he hit the man, said Lt. Cronin.
The driver was not at fault. He will not be cited, said Lt. Cronin.
The pedestrian was at fault, said the Police Lt.
