Pediatric Dentist Indicted on Child Pornography Charges
Framingham pediatric dentist Dr. Mel Ehrlich indicted on charges of distribution of child pornography (two counts) and possession of child pornography (three counts).

A pediatric dentist with an office in Framingham was indicted on charges of distribution and possession of child pornography for certain images and emails allegedly found on his laptop computer, Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone said today in a press release.
, was indicted today by a Middlesex Grand Jury on charges of distribution of child pornography (two counts) and possession of child pornography (three counts). The defendant will be arraigned April 11 in Middlesex Superior Court.
According to authorities, on March 27, 2012, Ehrlich sent his personal laptop computer to a service provider for maintenance work to remove a reported virus from the computer. While working on Ehrlich’s laptop, the service provider observed downloaded images of child pornography. The service provider called the Framingham Police, who immediately launched an investigation.

An extensive forensic investigation was conducted and revealed that Ehrlich used this laptop computer under various user names to download and distribute commercially traded child pornography images. The data recovered was sent to and confirmed to be commercially traded child pornography by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
At the time, Ehrlich, a pediatric dentist, was operating a business called Framingham Pediatric Dentistry.

There is currently no evidence that presently leads law enforcement to believe that Ehrlich physically abused any children or manufactured any images of child pornography.
It is alleged that, in addition to downloading images of child pornography onto his laptop computer, the defendant sent emails containing child pornography images to others from his dental practice.
