Sleeping Drunk Driver Arrested After Car Chase

Eric Funes from Framingham allegedly fell asleep on I-93 Sunday morning and tried to evade State Police after they woke him up.

State Troopers arrested an alleged drunk driver who police say fell asleep at the wheel in the left lane on I-93 Sunday morning and then sped off when confronted. 

A trooper spotted the vehicle stopped in the fast lane and found a man asleep behind the wheel, according to Boston.com

A three-mile chase ended when troopers used a tire-deflation device which stopped the vehicle just before the Tip O'Neill Tunnel.

Officers arrested Eric Funes, 29, of Framingham and charged him with drunk driving (second offense), failure to stop for police, driving to endanger and marked lanes violation, the Boston.com article says.
