The Framingham Flyers boys high school hockey team defeated St. John’s Shrewsbury 3-2 Monday night at Loring Arena.

The win improves the Flyers record to 4-0-2.
The Flyers struck early in the first period as Scottie Hall picked up a puck from Tyler Anes off the face-off and put it by the St. John’s net-minder to give the Flyers a 1-0 lead.

The first period ended 1-0 Framingham, with the Flyers carrying a slight territorial advantage and goalie Alex Moore making some key saves.
With just over 10 minutes left in the second period St. John’s tied the game, capitalizing off a face-off in the Flyer zone and tying the game. The second period ended 1-1.
The Flyers took a 2-1 lead with a power play goal in the third period on a Ben Stefanini shot from the point on an assist from Tyler Anes. With about 5 minutes left in third period the Flyers took a 2-goal lead as Stefanini scored on a shot after coming off the right wing side boards to make it a 3-1 game.
St. John’s came back taking advantage of a loose puck at the Flyer blue line and going in for a score to make it a 3-2 game with 2 minutes left.
The Flyers held off late St. John’s scoring chances, with goalie Moore making a last second save as the Colonials crashed the net off a odd man rush to the Flyers net.
