SLIDESHOW: Flyers Shut Out Rebels 2-0

The Framingham High boys ice hockey outscored and outshot Walpole HIgh to go 9-1-4 on the season.


FRAMINGHAM, MA - The Framingham High boys hockey team scored an impressive 2-0 win over the Rebels of Walpole Wednesday night at Loring Arena, out shooting Walpole 32-15.

Walpole entered the game 9-1-3.

With the win, the Flyers improve to 9-1-4.

The Flyers came out strong with consistent pressure in the rebels zone to start the game. Framingham outshot Walpole 10-2 in the first period but couldn’t beat the Walpole goalkeeper.

During the second period the Flyers couldn’t crack the first goal but outshot the Rebels 13-7.

The Flyers finally broke the ice with 12:03 left in the third period when Scottie Hall picked up a puck along the left wing boards in the neutral zone, turned by the defenseman and snuck around the Walpole goalie as he was being pulled down by the rebel defenseman, and beat the Walpole kept for the goal. Jamie Brigham and Colton Chassie assisted on the goal.

The Flyers then struck again less than a minute later. Defenseman Ryan Innis chipped the puck out of the Framingham zone to forward Tyler Anes. Anes completed a give and go with linemate Nathan Nichols who sent Anes in on a breakaway.

Freshman goalie Dominic Schiappa had the shut out for the Flyers making several big saves.
