State Wants To Hear If Its Transitional Programs Are Effective

The Massachusetts Department of Transitional Assistance Interim Commissioner Stacey Monahan announced a series of statewide listening sessions that will allow residents from each region of the Commonwealth to share ideas, provide feedback and tell stories about transitional assistance programs that provide an important bridge to stability during difficult times.

Monahan will be in Framingham today, March 11 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the main Framingham Library. The public is invited to attend.

“Transitional assistance provides a bridge to stability for one in eight people in Massachusetts, and the ideas and feedback received at these listening sessions will help us strengthen and improve these programs,” said Monahan in a press release. “I look forward to hearing directly from our residents, who often have the most constructive ideas about enhancing the way we do business.”

Today's session will allow Framingham and MetroWest residents to share comments directly with Interim Commissioner Monahan, department leaders and local elected officials. The sessions will also inform residents about the important changes happening at state department to enhance program integrity and ensure that taxpayer resources are going to only those who are truly eligible.
