Three State Troopers Suspended During Probe into Weapons Transfers

Three department members assigned to an armory are suspended without pay indefinitely.

FRAMINGHAM, MA—Three members of the Massachusetts State Police assigned to the department's armory have been suspended indefinitely without pay amid a probe into weapons transfers to a state-authorized vendor.

State Police Spokesman Dave Procopio said that the state police opened an internal investigation into the three members. The investigation is "reviewing the transfer of a limited number of surplus weapons to a state-authorized vendor," he said, and "the three department members have been suspended without pay indefinitely as the investigation proceeds."

The state police have asked the Massachusetts Attorney General to review the case "to determine if further action is warranted," Procopio said.
