WAAF Radio Host Takes to Skies for 3-Day Hunger Drive

Anthony "Spaz" Parziale began his three-day residence atop a crane in Framingham on Tuesday.

A crane raised WAAF talk show host Anthony "Spaz" Parziale high above Rte. 9 on Tuesday morning where he will spend three consecutive days; a stunt with the mission of also elevating local residents' awareness of hunger in the area.

Volunteers stocked the crane's platform with clothing and radio gear in preparation for the three-day residence. Parziale will continue his daily radio show from atop the platform from 5:30 to 10 a.m. until his decent on Thursday.

"We hope to raise $100,000 over the three days" Parziale said. "We want to give the listeners a feel for what it's like to be in need and homeless and stuck outside in the rain."

A bucket and a rope will shuttle food and water to Parziale from ground-level, including offerings from Framingham's British Beer Company, which is supplying space in their parking lot for the crane and spectators.

"It's going to be really hard, but not nearly as hard as being hungry and homeless," Parziale said as he boarded the crane's platform.
