12 People Sought Refuge at Shelter

The Grafton emergency shelter provided refuge to three adults and nine children during the storm.

Some of those seeking shelter had no water, because their well was offline when power went out. 

They needed to get away and have something to eat and drink, she said.

With the shelter now closed, Garabedian praised her “excellent group of people’’ who volunteered through the day.

Fifteen volunteers helped ensure that the shelter ran smoothly, she said.
