
Nineteen candidates have applied so far for the Grafton School Superintendent's job.
Pat Correira, search consultant for the Massachusetts Association of School Committees, said she anticipates 25 candidates will apply by the Friday deadline.
She met Wednesday night with members of the Grafton Screening Advisory Committee, a group of 13 town residents who will narrow the semi-finalist field of 8 to 12 candidates to three to five finalists.

At their first meeting, the committee selected Laura Often as chairman.
Members of the advisory committee will meet with and interview all the semi-finalists. Interviews are scheduled for March 7, 8, 9, 10 and, if necessary, 11.

The new superintendent will replace Joseph Connors, who is retiring at the end of the school year.Â
These finalists will then be passed on to members of the School Committee, who will then interview the finalists and make the final decision.
