3 New Traffic Signs Requested
Traffic committee makes road recommendations to selectmen.

Selectmen have been asked to review requests for stop signs, no trucks allowed signs and a sign indicated the presence of a person with disabilities.
Members of the Traffic Safety Commission are scheduled to ask selectmen tomorrow to consider the following signs:
Stop signs at both ends of Old Ferry Street and the intersection of Orchard and Old Ferry streets.

A sign indicating that an individual with disabilities lives in the vicinity of 72 Ferry St.
A no trucks allowed sign at Usher and Hitching roads. A neighbor reported that large trucks often mistakenly follow their GPS into this neighborhood when they are traveling south on Route 140 and miss or unable to make the turn onto Bridge Street toward the Massachusetts Turnpike.

Committee members have also discussed installing a traffic signal at Brigham Hill and Providence roads. This would address traffic back-ups as people attempt to exit the Municipal Center.
No action has yet been taken on that issue.
