5 Things Santa Should Bring to Grafton

The town could use some very special gifts this season.

What does Grafton want Santa to leave under its tree? (We suspect the tree in the Common would work.) Here are our ideas:

1. A solution to the crowding at the library. Clearly, the voters didn’t want an expansion of the current building. Should the branches re-open? Or what else can be done that makes fiscal sense and gets the job done?

2. A new high school, ready to open on time in September and under budget.

3. A clone of Skip Michniewicz. A dozen or so like him and there wouldn’t be a vacant building in town. Instead, there would be a dozen or more new showpieces.

4. More willing volunteers to help at quintessential town events such as the turkey hunt and Grafton Celebrates the Holidays. Betty Wright and her staff at the Recreation Department do a great job, but they can only do so much.

5.  A beautiful spring day for the grand opening of the Fisherville/Farnumsville park in South Grafton. And maybe Santa can leave a little something extra for Steve Bishop, Ann Morgan, members of the Streetscape Committee and everyone who stepped up and helped revitalize South Grafton.

Merry Christmas to all! And may we all have a year of health and happiness.

And good cherry sheet numbers would help, too, Santa….
