5 Things We Learned About Grafton During the Blizzard

Being snowed in for a bit allowed us at Patch the opportunity to interact with a bunch of you on Facebook and via email. Here's what we learned:

1. You're willing to help out your neighbors. A simple question we posed on our Facebook page, asking if anyone was available to help shovel out nearby residents, triggered a handful of responses.

2. You don't just care about being able to get your morning coffee: you care about the people who are serving it. One resident's concern for the safety of the people who make her coffee at Dunkin' Donuts led to her writing a letter to the company, and caught our attention..

3. You're pretty happy with your Department of Public Works. Throughout the region, we fielded complaints about various streets not being plowed within what was believed to be a reasonable amount of time. No such complaints came from Grafton residents: at least not anything serious. In fact, one reader wondered why the driving ban was only going to be lifted at 4: hours before then, she could already see blacktop on Milford Road.

4. If you're looking to go sledding in town, Lakeview and Fairview cemeteries are the places to go. (That's according to an informal survey on Facebook!)

5. You take great pictures. We received nearly 30 photos of Grafton scenes as of Saturday night: we're expecting and hoping to see more today!
