Here are 5 things we learned this week on Grafton.Patch.Com:

1. Two middle schools, one for grades 5 and 6 and the other for grades 7 and 8, will open in the fall of 2012. Grades 5 and 6 will remain at the current middle school building, while grades 7 and 8 will move to the current high school when high school students move to the new building

They have been informally known as Grafton Upper and Lower middle schools.

Will those names be maintained, or will new ones will be adopted?

The School Committee agreed this week to consider the issue at a future meeting.

3. Town Administrator Timothy J. McInerney received a positive report card this week from the Board of Selectmen. He earned the rough equivalent of a B+.

Using a grading scale of zero to nine, selectmen gave him his highest ranking in the category of town administration, which includes overseeing the town warrant, keeping complete financial records and efficiently executing the general laws, town charter and selectmen votes.

Concerns were raised about the morale of the employees.

4. The   varsity girls softball team had a great week. They are headed to the Central Massachusetts Division II Finals after defeating last year's state champions, Hudson High School, 4-3.

The game will be held Saturday, June 11 at Leicester High School.
