5 Things You Need to Know Today: Nov. 11
The town has a very special Veterans Day planned.

Our weekday morning column, 5 Things You Need to Know, provides you with information that can help you plan your day and give you some fodder for water cooler conversations.
 1. Today is Veterans Day. Many official ceremonies, including Grafton’s, will begin at 11 a.m. in honor of the end of World War I, which became officialon the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month.
2. The move to build and install a memorial to the town’s World War II soldiers was officially announced at the June 7 selectmen’s meeting.

3. Money for the memorial, which cost about $8,000, was donated by residents.
4. Before today’s events, World War II was the only war that was not represented with a memorial on the Common.

 5. Forecast: Sun and clouds, high 49, low 31. The cool temperatures prompted organizers to move the ceremony inside, to the Congregational Church of Grafton.
