E. Coli Levels Close Beach

High levels of E. coli bacteria are attributed to the storm.

The Silver Lake Beach has been closed because of high levels of E. coli bacteria, beach levels, beach director John Stephens said.

High levels of E. coli and other bacteria often result in waterways after heavy rains, when runoff can include animal waste.

The beach is closed until further notice, Stephens said. Retesting is scheduled for tomorrow, he said.
