President Barack Obama has confirmed that Osama Bin Laden is dead.
President addressed the nation at 11:35 p.m.
"I can report to the American people and to the world, that the US has conducted an operation that killed Osama bin Laden," President.

"Shortly after taking office, I directed…the director of the CIA, to make the killing or capture of bin Laden the top priority..." said the President to the nation. "at my direction, the US launched a targeted operation … No Americans were harmed…After a firefight, they killed Osama bin Laden”
“The US is not – and never will be – at war with Islam…Bin Laden was not a Muslim leader; he was a mass murderer of Muslims," said the President. “We give thanks for the men who carried out this operation”

"To the families of 9/11, we have never forgotten your loss," said the President to the nation.
“Tonight, let us think back to the same sense of unity that prevailed on 9/11…this…is a testament to the greatness of our country," said the President.
