Board Set to Look at Library's Future

The Library Building Committee will meet for the first time Feb. 23.

The committee charged with determining the ’s future has been appointed, with the exception of two members yet to be nominated by their respective boards.

Members of the board will be: Brook Padgett (Board of Selectmen representative), Doug Bowman (Board of Library Trustees representative), Dave Robbins (Planning Board representative) and a member, yet to be nominated, from the Finance Committee and Historic District Commission.

Members at large are: Carroll Westgate, Julie Grace, Andrew Deschenes and Tim Fitzpatrick.

The committee will determine how to proceed with the library, which needs work to become compliant with the American with Disabilities Act regulations. Voters in December that would have been assisted by a $5 million state grant.

The grant , although details of that extension and whether it be even be used remain unknown.
