The 2012 annual census forms are expected to arrive in households soon.
Residents are asked to review the form, make any necessary changes, sign it and return it to the ’s office by mail, in person when Town Hall is open (Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., except for Tuesdays, when the building closes at 7 p.m.) or in the gold mailbox in front of the building.
If someone has moved, providing a new address is helpful. Nursing home residents, students and those on military duty who would normally reside in the household should be listed on the form.

The information from the census report provides proof of residency, street listings, the school report, jury information, veterans’ bonuses, housing for the elderly and related benefits. The population figure has a bearing on the state and federal aid the town will receive.
Dog licenses expire March 31. Applications for dog licenses are printed on the back of the census form. Residents should complete the form, include the fee, current rabies vaccination certificate and a self-addressed envelope. The license will then be sent to the resident.
