Change To Appointed Town Clerk In Grafton Almost At Hand

Over a year and two months has passed since Grafton residents voted in favor of Article 31 at the 2023 Spring Town Meeting. The measure, which changes the selection process of the Grafton Town Clerk from elected to appointed, is on track to be approved by the Massachusetts Legislature before the end of the Legislative session on Wednesday, July 31st. The change will also place the Town Clerk under the supervision of the Town Administrator, similar to other Town department heads. Articles from the 2023 Fall Grafton Town Meeting may also be approved by the Legislature this week.
