Community Harvest Fair is Sunday

The organization grows thousands of pounds of produce for the Worcester County Food Bank.

 

will host its annual harvest celebration, Harvest Home, from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, at the project property at 37 Wheeler Road, North Grafton.

The day of family fun, food and music will benefit Community Harvest Project, Inc., which grows tons of produce at its North Grafton location each year to benefit the Worcester County Food Bank.

Jubilee Gardens, voted Best of Worcester, will be performing live along with special guests Solomon Murungu and Ed Melikian. Activities will include hayrides, pony rides, pumpkin catapults, crafts for kids and face-painting.

Admission is $5 at the gate; children younger than 12 are admitted free. Some activities cost extra.

Community Harvest Project, Inc. is a non-profit organization with a mission to build an engaged and healthier community by bringing volunteers together to grow fresh fruits and vegetables for hunger relief.  Thousands of volunteers every year, including school, church, civic, local business and corporate groups, work together to plant, grow and harvest the fresh fruit and produce that is donated to the Worcester County Food Bank and other hunger relief organizations in the area.

This year, donations have already passed 150,000 pounds of produce from the farm in North Grafton and Cheney Orchards in Brimfield.
