Defective Trash Bags Replaced

The manufacturers have restocked the shelves at local retailers.

About 30,000 pay as you throw bags will be restocked at local retailers because of concerns that the present stock had deficiencies.

Residents had raised concerns that a recent batch of bags was tearing easily. After meeting with Town Administrator Timothy McInerney, the manufacturer, Waste Zero, agreed to remove the current stock from the shelves.

This will be done at no cost to the town.

Any resident who has a bag that breaks or is otherwise defective is asked to return the remaining bags from the sleeve to the retailer for a full sleeve at no charge.
