And 900 dinners are planned for this year’s traditional chicken barbecue.

Chicken, hot dogs, burgers and soda will be available. Tickets are $10 and are available at the door.
Beer and wine will be available for an additional charge.

A disc jockey will provide entertainment. People can eat both indoors and outside.
Proceeds help the Fire Department purchase tools and equipment.
The event has been a success thanks to the support of local residents, said Lt. Paul Cournoyer of the Grafton Fire Department.
He often sees people at the dinner who have been helped by the department. There are many times, he said, when “at three o’clock in the morning I’m pumping out someone’s basement.’’
And because the town has a call fire department, firefighters who help homeowners in the middle of the night then often head out that morning to their full-time jobs, he said.
“People recognize that,’’ he said.Â
