Extended Hours Eyed for Brush Dump

With residents tackling so much debris in their yards, selectmen are requesting additional hours for the brush dump.

The Brush Disposal area on Millbury Street has been scheduled to be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5.

Selectman David Ross asked whether those hours could be extended until later in the day to accommodate the amount of debris people will be clearing.

“Some people will have to make trip after trip,’’ he said.

Town Administrator Timothy McInerney said he would try to get staffing to keep the brush dump open as late as possible, ideally until dusk.

The brush dump is scheduled to remain open through November from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
