Fight Boredom at Local Summer Camps

Sports, art and nature are among the activities.

Here is a sampling of area summer camps:

 

Eyes Wide is the 2011 Summer Enrichment Program at Touchstone
Community School, 54 Leland St., Grafton.

The program is for boys and
girls ages 5 to 14 and includes enrichment programs in such subjects
as integrated science, Earth awareness, theater, cooking,
conflict-resolution, crafts, dance and yoga, to name a few. For more

Camp St. John's is a summer program sponsored by St. John's High School, 378 Main St., Shrewsbury. 

The camp, for boys and girls ages 5 to 12, runs in weekly sessions from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. starting June 27 and ending Aug. 5. Daily sessions are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.  

Swimming, sports and arts and crafts are among the features. For more information, call (508) 842-9327.

Teamworks Summer Camp 2011 is a program of Teamworks, located at 185 Otis St., Northborough.

Three camp options are available: Traditional, sports or specialty camps. Camp day runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Weekly sessions start June 6 and end Sept. 2.

Broad Meadow Brook Nature Day Camp is sponsored by Broad Meadow Brook Conservation Center and Wildlife Sanctuary, 414 Massasoit Road, Worcester.

This camp is for youngsters  ages 4 1/2 to 16. A variety of programs are scheduled, based on age and interest. Campers learn about habitat and ecosystems and how to identify  variety of plant and animal species that inhabit Broad Meadow Brook, an urban wildlife sanctuary.
