A flash flood watch has been issued by the National Weather Service through Tuesday afternoon.
A slow-moving cold front continues to approach southern New England this afternoon. This front is expected to interact with tropical moisture from the remnants of Lee and cross the area overnight.
As the front moves through the region, an area of rain will affect the area. This heavy rainfall, combined with saturated soil from the rain experienced from Irene, may lead to flash flooding of low-lying, poor drainage and urban areas.
