Grafton High Just Misses Top 50 List
Superintendent says this ranking reflects a strong overall school district.

just missed the list of top 50 high schools in the state, according to US News.
The school placed 51st of the state's 351 high schools and was ranked 1,306 in the country.
Grafton High placed above average in math and English proficiency, with students ranking 88 and 92 percent proficient, respectively.

They placed near the state average for student/teacher ratio at 13:1 and at college readiness. Twenty-eight percent of students participated in Advanced Placement courses, and 26 percent passed.
Superintendent of Schools Jay Cummings said the ranking is a positive reflection on the entire school district.

"Grafton's rank in the report reflects a great deal of hard work on behalf of staff and students,'' he said in an email. "While it is a high school ranking, what students know and are able to do in high school is a product of a lot of work taking place over numerous years.''
He said he is proud of these results, which come months before a new high school is scheduled to open. "I am very excited to think of where we will rank in the years to come as the work we are doing now begins to produce results.'' he said.
Topping the list of national high schools is the School for the Talented and Gifted in Texas. In Massachusetts, the Sturgis Charter Public School in Hyannis took top honors.
Closer to home, Hopkinton High School was ranked third in Massachusetts; Algonquin Regional High School came in at 25th in the state; Shrewsbury High School was 34th and Westborough High School was 35th.
Sutton High School edged Grafton High School among top Blackstone Valley high schools, placing 50th.
