Grafton Man Guilty of Stealing Railroad Ties

A second charge against Nicholas Vokes is dismissed.

A Grafton man was found guilty of stealing metal ties from the Grafton & Upton Railroad.

Nicholas Vokes, 23, of 1 East St., North Grafton, was sentenced to 56 days in the House of Correction, with credit for 56 days time served, after Grafton police charged him March 29 with stealing metal railroad ties from behind the on Upton Street.

Judge Vito Virzi, who found Vokes guilty of the larceny under $250 charge, dismissed a charge of possession of burglary tools in connection with the same incident. Vokes was sentenced May 24 in Westborough District Court.
