Grafton Primary Election Guide 2018

The state primary election is on Tuesday, Sept. 4. Get out the vote.

GRAFTON, MA—The state primaries take place on Tuesday, Sept. 4, for all parties, with candidates vying for a slot on the Nov. 6 mid-term election ballot.

Massachusetts has incumbent Elizabeth Warren as the sole Democrat on the ballot for state senator, with Geoff Diehl, John Kingston and Beth Lindstrom on the ballot for the Republicans. Independents Shiva Ayyadurai, John Devine and Joshua Ford are also running for state senate. Scott D. Lively, from Springfield, is taking on Republican Governor Charlie Baker. Jay Gonzalez and Bob Maissie are on the ballot for Governor for the Democrats.

The battle for Second District, which includes Worcester, includes the Republican contest for Representative in Congress between Tracy Lovvorn and Kevin William Powers. David Muradian runs unopposed for State Representative on the Republican ballot.

Attorney General candidates in the Republican camp are James R. McMahon and Daniel Shores, and Kate Campanale takes on Kevin Kuros for Register of Deeds in the Worcester District.

James McGovern runs unopposed for the Democrats, as does Jamie Eldridge for State Senator. Marilyn Petitto Devaney and Nick Carter are on the Democratic ballot for Councillor.

Also on the Democratic ballot, Michael Moore runs unopposed in the Second Worcester District for State Senator.
There are no contested races for State Senate or House of Representatives on the Republican Ballot.

The polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Precincts 1, 2, 3: Grafton Middle School, 22 Providence Road
Precincts 4 and 5: Millbury Street Elementary School, 105 Millbury St.
