Grafton Resident's Search for Kidney Donor Continues

We first met Ranjan Shukla in October 2012, shortly after her husband, Vijay, wrote to us at Grafton Patch, asking if we could share her story.

Ranjan, a Grafton resident for more than 30 years, has had decreasing kidney function for the past several years, and now, her kidneys are failing. She's on a waiting list for a new kidney, but the wait could exceed the amount of time she's expected to be able to live in her current condition.

Having exhausted other options to find a kidney, Ranjan wrote an impassioned plea on Grafton Patch, asking the public for help.

We checked in with the family this week, asking how Ranjan was doing.

"Based on the story you ran, we had received couple comments/suggestions from the Patch readers; however, we are not able to find a donor as yet," Vijay wrote.
