Here’s Why Liam Was Shouted Out As 2024 Grad

Many local graduates excelled in academics, fine arts or volunteering. Here's one local graduate who deserves a shoutout in North Grafton.

NORTH GRAFTON, MA — Graduation is a major milestone and deserves to be celebrated! That's why Patch and T-Mobile have teamed up to recognize our community's outstanding 2024 graduates.

Liam Schaker graduated with a 4.73 GPA, Class of 2024 Valedictorian, Class of 2024 President (all 4 years), Captain Senior year for both Varsity Football and Varsity Lacrosse and receiving the Coaches award, 3-Varsity sport senior year adding Indoor track in the winter where he won 1st place for the S.W.C.L Boys 4 x 200 Relay (he was the anchor position- 4th to run), President's Award for Academic Excellence (President Biden) , Scholar Athlete Award, National Honor Society Fundraising Chair, D.E.C.A VP of Community Relations, Two pathways of recognition : STEAM and Business Studies with Honors, Grafton High School Gator of the Year Award - Athletics, The Raymond J Lemay Award for Academic and Athletic Excellence, High Honor Roll Student all 4 years, AP Biology Award, MIAA Ambassador, Alumni of Project 351(served in 2020), Liam supported the Grafton Food Bank for many of Community Service Projects, and built relationships with small businesses in Grafton and worked with them at the Vendor and Craft Fair he created to raise money for his class as President. Liam was accepted to many prestigious universities including UCLA, the University of Southern California, University of Michigan - Ann Arbor, the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill and the University of Virginia - Charlottesville were among his top five considering out of 14 acceptances. Liam will be attending the University of Southern California admitted into Pre-Physical Therapy majoring in Health and Human Sciences. Liam was accepted in January during early action admissions in their top 6% while they deferred 94%. Liam's name will also appear in the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta, Georgia. He received the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame Joseph R. Mewhiney Central Massachusetts Chapter Scholar Athlete Award. Liam's future plans include attending graduate school to earn his PHD in Physical Therapy. Liam hopes to work with a professional sports team one day.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about your graduating student nominee?

Liam is humble and compassionate. Liam has outstanding time management skills will help him be successful in college and in life.
