The project is 45 percent complete and remains on track for a September 2012 opening, the Grafton School Committee was told last night.

The project is also “significantly under budget,’’ Rich McCarthy, chairman of the School Building Committee, said.

The biggest challenge now is getting the windows secured for the winter, he said, to avoid increased heating costs.

He also said that neighbors on Brigham Hill Road have been plagued by excess water, in large part because of the storms in August and September.

Those issues have been corrected, he said.

Principal James Pignataro has visited the model classroom several times to make decision on fixtures and other features, McCarthy said.
