'I Cried My Eyes Out Last Night'

Two fires in one week bring back harrowing memories.

The blaze at 6 Airport Rd. Monday immediately brought Lori Feola back to Thanksgiving 2010, when fire struck her Falmouth Drive home as she and her family had just sat down for dinner.

Then, just this morning, it happened again.

A home at that caused significant smoke and heat damage. Allison Wilson, , lived in the home.

“I cried my eyes out last night,’’ Feola said. “It brings back so many triggers.’’

The smell of the smoke and the chaos of the fire scene that day in November 2010 came right back, she said. “That fear stays with you,’’ she said.

“I don’t think people realize how traumatizing it is’’ to lose everything you own in a fire, Feola said. “Everything you worked so hard for is gone.’’

Feola’s home was destroyed by the Thanksgiving fire. A new house has been built at the 4 Falmouth Dr. location.

The home is in the same neighborhood as both homes that were hit by fire this week.

Investigators are looking into whether there is a link between the two fires this week. Feola said her family is scared their home could be next.

She said her “heart goes out to’’ to the man rescued from the 6 Airport Rd. fire and to Wilson.

“I couldn’t imagine losing my child,’’ she said. And now, the fire.

And she worries what could happen next. “I think people are worried,’’ she said.
