It's a Girl! Meet Town's Newest Alpaca

The town's population _ the four-legged kind, anyway _ grew by one adorable baby yesterday.

Meredith, one of the Angel Hair Alpacas, gave birth yesterday to a bright white 14-pound cria _ the term for a baby animal in the camelid family.

The baby was sire by Template, an award-winning alpaca, so owners Maureen Agley and Jay Cohen are excited that the baby will have his beautiful fleece.

Mom and baby are doing well. No names have been selected yet, but suggestions are being accepted. They are looking for a name that begins with M.
