Lane Closures on I-290 Eastbound in Worcester to Cause Delays
Paving on I-290 Eastbound this week will occur between 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. through Aug. 19
WORCESTER, MA β Motorists should expect delays along I-290 eastbound in Worcester between 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 16, Tuesday, Aug. 17, and Wednesday, Aug. 18 until 5 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, according to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT).
The intermittent temporary lane closures, due to paving, include on and off-ramp closures between exit 17 (Vernon Street/Kelley Square) and exit 24 (Plantation Street).
Appropriate signs, law enforcement details, and messaging will be in place to guide drivers through the work area.

Motorists are to follow the posted detour signs, reduce their speed, and use caution when traveling through the affected areas
Only one ramp at a time will be closed during the paving operations. The schedule is weather permitting and may change without notice.
