Letter: Support Spinney for Selectman

(Editor's Note: With the election a few days away, letters to the editor in support of specific candidates must submitted by 5 p.m. Saturday, May 12 for inclusion before the election. No letters will be posted on election day. And whoever you vote for, do get out and vote Tuesday.)

My wife and I are writing to encourage our fellow Graftonites to join us on May 15 in voting for Bruce Spinney for selectman.  

We have gotten to know Bruce over the past few years via my own participation on the Planning Board, Super Park Committee, and Agricultural Committee...as well as through meetings/events hosted by the Streetscape Committee which we have been able to attend. Bruce is a very devoted family man and public servant. All one has to do is take 15 minutes to speak with him, and you'd agree!  

We have observed his professionalism and exceptional patience during his time on the Planning Board, and the leadership he displayed as he chaired the Planning Board these past two years. His eagerness to hear from all sides involved in any matter, and his ability to maintain order even during the more heated issues shows his desire to further improve our already great town, and help bring all parties to the table on any matter that may face the BoS in years to come. His attention to detail, and how each aspect of a vote may affect the future outcome of a situation is truly admirable!  

Aside from his involvement on the Planning Board, he is also an active member of the Economic Developement Committee, Community Preservation Committee and the Streetscape Committee. His association and involvement in these committees will prove to be an invaluable benefit to Grafton as a member of the BoS. His vision of further transparency and efficiency in Grafton's government will help our town be more approachable to not only residents, but also business, etc.  

Bruce Spinney loves Grafton, and has shown his devotion to our town and its residents time and time again. I believe that this May 15 is time to have a change on our BoS, and give Bruce the chance to be our new voice on the BoS. Bruce is committed to helping everyone have their say in town government, as well as working on all levels to reign in the ever-growing tax burden we have in town, while still making sure that what the Town *needs* still gets done.

Please join us on May 15 and vote for Bruce Spinney for selectman.
