Letter to the Editor: Library Is Vital to Town

The recent storm underscored the importance of the library.

Most recently when we were without electric, cable and phone for days on end, we sought the warmth, comfort _ and computers  _ of the .

Since my husband teaches online and must be able to reach his students every day, and several times a day, it is imperative that he have internet access. His students range from all over the U.S. so our New England storm was of little concern to them, but of major concern to the teacher. 

Without question, the Grafton Library on the Common enabled normalcy in our lives at a time when we most needed it. Like many people, we have become tied to the electronic world which is wonderful, when everything is up and running everywhere. Not so good when your lines are down compliments of Mother Nature.

We use the library often, but this was our first “emergency” situation and we are grateful that the library was available. As for the library computers, every one of them was in use and the sign-in page was filled with signatures.
