Letter to the Editor: Silent Majority Oppose Library
The project is too expensive, writer says.

I am writing this letter as a concerned senior citizen regarding needing to put a halt to Grafton’s tax increases.
Most (if not all) seniors have fixed incomes and we have to learn to live within our means. The Town of Grafton needs to do the same, “live within your income”. I say no to the upcoming special town vote to approve a prop 2 ½ override, which would result in increasing our taxes again.
I think that I am speaking for the “silent majority” of people in Grafton, not just seniors. A minority of Grafton citizens “steamrolled” this expansion proposal through the town. Sure, we would like a new library but not now when everybody is tightening their belts, how can we consider going out and spend more and more?

Shrewsbury in their wisdom understands this, they voted no to override prop 2 ½ to expand their library project. We should do the same. Voting at town meetings and town elections and ballots is the only way that concerned citizens can take back control of our town.
Get out and vote no and encourage your silent majority of friends and neighbors to do the same.
