Letter: Vote for Mike Scully

The writer endorses Planning Board candidate.

I am writing today to encourage my fellow Graftonites to join me and vote for Mike Scully for the Planning Board this May 15.

Mike is a man with great devotion and logic. He has served Grafton in many aspects already, one such example of Mike's participation in Grafton events would include singing the "Star-Spangled Banner" at Grafton’s 275th Anniversary Parade.

Though he is a fresh face as far as actual government involvement goes, he has served on many different boards of nonprofit organizations, reaching leadership roles in many of them. Some such committees/boards include the Blackstone Valley Community Chorus and the New England Area Community Chorus Association. As far as town government goes, Mike is the acting Chairman of the Super Park Committee, which I am privelaged to serve along with him as Vice Chairman.

His leadership, attention to detail and dedication have proven invaluable to the effort so far, and have assisted the project along to the point where the effort to build a new Super Park for Grafton is much closer to a reality now.  His technical know-how, and ability to utilize numerous forms of media and technology to advance projects and ideas is beyond admirable.

A key factor in his approach to our town, and its needs, is said no better than from his own words: "I believe that government is supposed to work for the people. I want to help make the process of doing business with town government simpler, faster and more transparent. Efficiency is not only necessary but essential to serving on any board or committee. I also believe that transparency and openness is the best way to serve those in the community."

His love and devotion to family and town are undeniable! I hope that my fellow Graftonites will join me at the polls on Tuesday, May 15, and cast one of their votes for Mike Scully.
