Man Charged in Fatal Crash In Court March 23

Robert Curran is charged in a fatal accident that killed two Worcester men.

A pre-trial hearing is set in Worcester Superior Court March 23 for the former Grafton man charged in a crash that killed two young men and seriously injured a third.

Robert J. Curran III, 22, whose address was listed as 33 Buttercup Lane, Grafton, at the time of the crash, is charged with two counts of manslaughter by motor vehicle, two counts of motor vehicle homicide, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, three counts of leaving the scene of a personal injury accident resulting in death and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.

Curran’s current address is 25 Mechanic St. Apt. B, Webster, according to court documents.

Curran is free on $20,000 bail. He cannot operate a motor vehicle and must remain employed full-time, according to the conditions of his bail.

He must also report to probation weekly, is ordered to remain drug- and alcohol-free and submit to random testing and cannot leave the state without court permission.

The crash happened at 2:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 9.

Curran was driving on Chandler Street toward downtown Worcester when the Acura his was driving crashed into an Acura driven by Andres Guzman, 18, of Worcester as it exited Piedmont Street, according a spokesman in the Worcester County District Attorney's office.

He was traveling at a high rate of speed, the spokesman said.

The accident happened in a T-bone fashion, with the front of one vehicle striking the side of the other.

Guzman and a passenger, Joel Rodriguez, 19, were killed.

A second passenger, Jesus Molina, 19, was seriously injured
