The fire destroyed the garage and the vehicles inside, the fire chief has reported.
rescued a man from his home early this morning when fire destroyed the garage of his Airport Road home.
The sole occupant of the home at 10 Airport Rd. was sleeping when the fire broke out, Michael Gauthier said. Grafton police broke into the home to rescue the man.
The fire was reported at 3:43 a.m. No injuries were reported.

Two vehicles and three pieces of equipment were destroyed in the garage, which Gauthier described as a “total loss.’’
A gas generator, air compressor and snowblower were destroyed in the blaze, Gauthier said.

The house itself received only minor damage because the fire was knocked down before it could make its way into the main structure, the chief said. Some smoke damage was reported.
Power was cut to the house because a power line came down during the fire, Gauthier said.
The cause of the fire is not yet known, the chief said.
Firefighters from Millbury and Upton assisted at the scene, while Shrewsbury, Westborough and Sutton provided station coverage.
