UPDATED: At Least Two Hurt in Crash, Part of Route 140 Still Closed

A truck and three vehicles were involved.

UPDATED:At least two people were injured in the crash, although none of the injuries was life-threatening, Police Chief Normand A. Crepeau said.

A portion of the road is still closed and traffic is being detoured as of 5:30 p.m.

The investigation could take several days, the chief said.

A portion of Route 140 was closed following a messy multi-vehicle crash this afternoon which included an overturned dump truck.

The crash forced police to detour drivers down side streets, causing serious back-ups.

A dump truck carrying asphalt was overturned in the crash. Three other vehicles were apparently involved.

Crews were on the scene shoveling asphalt from the truck in an effort to clear the road.

The truck carried the name of Riley Brothers Utility Contractors.

One car, with a deflated airbag, rested on a nearby lawn, its back wheel off the ground.

The crash happened about 2:30 p.m. near the Shrewsbury town line.The road was littered with glass and debris from the vehicles.

The Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council Collision Reconstruction Team is investigating.
