New Candidate in School Committee Race

Two races are now contested for the spring election.

There will be a race for School Committee this spring as a third candidate has taken out papers for one of the two available seats.

Margaret McDonald of 59 Aspen Ave. has taken out papers for Grafton School Committee. She will battle it out with the two incumbents, Kathleen Halloran and Peter Carlson, who have already taken out papers to retain their seats on the committee.

This makes two contested races so far for the spring election. Current Planning Board chairman Bruce W. Spinney III has taken out papers for the seat on the Board of Selectmen now held by Brook Padgett. Padgett is also seeking re-election.

Other races and candidates are: Planning Board, two seats. The seats now held by Spinney and Robert Hassinger are up for reelection. Hassinger has taken out papers, as has Robert Sims. Spinney is seeking a seat on the Board of Selectmen.

Board of Library Trustees, three seats. Incumbents Diane Libbey and Douglas Bowman have taken out papers to retain their seats.

The election will be held at  May 15. There is still time for candidates to take out papers.
