New Grafton Energy Rate Sees Slight Increase In Electric
"We were not surprised to see the program price has increased a bit with this new contract."

GRAFTON, MA—Grafton signed a new, 36-month contract for electrical supply with Direct Energy for the Energy Choice Program, which locks in a price for three years for customers in Grafton.
The new price for Energy Choice Standard will be 10.81 cents per kilowatt and the new price for Energy Choice Green will be 11.21 cents per kilowatt. Those prices go into effect in October, which is when the contract with Public Power expires.
"The Grafton Energy Choice program will have provided approximately $1.3 million in savings to Grafton residents and businesses by the end of the current contract with Public Power in October," said Grafton Town Administrator Tim McInerny in a statement. "Electricity supply prices in Massachusetts have increased overall since we launched the program, so we were not surprised to see the program price has increased a bit with this new contract, but we were able to secure a very competitive price once again. Given the success of our first contract, we decided to lock in the price for a full three years."
