
They have been informally known as Grafton Upper and Lower middle schools.
School Committee members agreed last night to decide at an upcoming meeting whether to make those names official or go in another direction.
Starting in September 2012, the town will have two middle schools, one for grades 5 and 6, the other for grades 7 and 8.

The fifth and sixth grades will be located at the current middle school, while the upper grades will move to the current Grafton High School.
The high school students will attend the new building, which is currently under construction.

 Some concerns have been raised, committee members noted, that the acronym for Grafton Upper Middle School, if that name is used, would be GUMS.
